The 5 Steps of Flexy System
Phase 1: FOUNDATION
A solid base is created by laying a well-compacted concrete screed (generally 10-12 cm thick) or quarry mix, sized and calculated to support the weight of the pavement and the loads required by the design and intended use.

Phase 2: BEDDING
This consists of dry aggregate 4/8 mm in size, with a thickness varying between 50 and 80 mm, depending on the thickness of the stone being laid, with a tolerance of +/- 10%.
The material used must have an aggregate fragmentation resistance value obtained by the Los Angeles test with a coefficient ≤ 22.

Phase 3: BACKFILLING AND COMPACTING
Once the paving has been laid in accordance with the layout plans, the joints are backfilled, preferably with the same aggregate as the bedding, with the same or even better mechanical properties.
This operation is followed by compaction using a vibrating plate vibrating plate, adapted to the size of the elements.
The operation must be carried out dry, without the use of water.
It is important that the width of the joints is at least equal to three times the size of the aggregate, to ensure optimum penetration of the resin.

Phase 4: FILLING THE JOINTS
The final filling of the joints is carried out using washed, dry, calibrated aggregates, chosen according to the desired colour, with a grain size of 2/4 mm.
They must have mechanical characteristics suitable for the expected loads (equal to or greater than those of the laying gravel). Excess material is simply swept away.

Phase 5: POURING THE RESIN
Once the joints have been filled, proceed to grouting with FLEXYSTONE® polyurethane resin, pouring it into all the joints.
The resin is poured by hand, or using a container for one-off jobs, or using special equipment.
The resin penetrates deep into the pavement, creating a reaction together with the paving modules to form a reticular covering that is solid and resistant resilient and exceptionally durable. Flexystone® resin is suitable for surfaces designed to withstand heavy, intense traffic, and is highly resistant to temperature variations.

Additionals Notes
AMBER LOOK
Exposure to UV rays gives effet to the surface layer of the joint,
which reduces naturally until eliminated, after a cycle of seasons.
REOPENING TO TRAFFIC
It takes less than 24 hours to reopen to road traffic after the work has been carried out.
DRAINABILITY AND IMPERMEABILITY
The 2/4 mm finishing gravel allows you to obtain draining joints.
To obtain joints that are 95% waterproof, we use a special polymer powder, SANDFIX-14 (see technical data sheet), wich is applied after the finishing the paving.
